The Office of Financial Aid can take into account special circumstances, which may affect your need, on a case-by-case basis. Reasons that may be considered for a Special Circumstances Review include loss of income due to layoff, disability, divorce, separation or loss of untaxed benefits etc.
You must visit the Financial Aid Office or email As_finaid@kctcs.edu and a Financial Aid Specialist will provide you a Recalculation Form as well as a checklist of other items required to perform the judgement.
Requests are processed as they are received, once all required items are submitted. If the professional judgement is approved, the recalculation corrections to your FAFSA will be submitted by the Financial Aid Specialist (Financial Aid Office) and processed by the Department of Education. This process typically takes 10 business days to complete.
