You must visit the Financial Aid Office and a Financial Aid Advisor will provide you a Request for Independent Status Form, as well as a checklist of other items required to perform the judgement. You may make the request at any time during the academic year.
Requests are processed as they are received, once all required items are submitted. If the professional judgement is approved, the dependency corrections to your FAFSA will be submitted by the Financial Aid Advisor (Financial Aid Office) and processed by the Department of Education. This process typically takes 15 business days to complete.
