Can I Be Reinstated in a Course After Being Dropped?
To avoid being dropped from your courses, it is important to make payment arrangements before the deadline. If you have already been dropped, the options below outline how to proceed.
Prevent Being Dropped
- Set up a payment plan or make a payment before the deadline.
- Once financial aid is disbursed, any excess funds will be refunded to you.
- Students receiving financial aid (grants, scholarships, Work Ready, third-party assistance, or KEES awards) will not be dropped for non-payment if a No Cancellation (NOC) hold is applied to their account.
If You Need Help with Payments
- Contact the Business Office if you:
- Have extenuating circumstances
- Need assistance setting up a payment plan
- If you cannot make payment arrangements, consider enrolling in 12-week or 8-week sessions later in the semester.
If You Believe You Were Dropped in Error
- Contact your instructor to request reinstatement.
- If approved:
- The instructor must send permission from their Gateway Community and Technical College email address
- Email must be sent directly to the Student Records Office at gw-studentrecords@kctcs.edu
If You Were Dropped for Non-Payment
To be reinstated, you must:
- Pay your tuition in full or
- Make payment arrangements with the Business Office
Additional Requirement:
- A $75 reinstatement fee will be charged for students reinstated after being dropped for non-payment.
