My financial situation has changed. What can I do to see if I qualify for more financial assistance?

The Office of Financial Aid can take into account special circumstances, which may affect your need, on a case-by-case basis. Reasons that may be considered for a Special Circumstances Review include loss of income due to layoff, disability, divorce, separation or loss of untaxed benefits etc.

To request your financial aid award to be recalculated due to a special circumstance (ex., divorce, death, unemployment, etc.) please visit the Financial Aid Office and pick up a copy of the Recalculation Form. If requesting due to unemployment, you must have been unemployed for at least 3 months. Please be sure to review all of the information on the Recalculation Form as it explains the review process along with various forms of supporting documentation that will be required for your award to be recalculated.

You will also need to complete the current year's Verification Worksheet which can be located in your Student Center, as well as signed copies of your tax transcript, W-2s, and a Statement of Separation from your previous employer. Once all documentation has been submitted, please allow up to 10 business days for a decision.
