KCTCS Scholarships
KCTCS offers a number of scholarships, both academic-based and need-based that you are not required to pay back. For a list of KCTCS scholarships, visit the Two-Year Public Colleges Scholarship guide. Each year, a number of individuals, organizations, and companies make funding available for scholarships to various KCTCS colleges. The amount and criteria for these awards will vary. These scholarships are advertised on college websites when available, and eligible students may apply at that time. Please select your home college for additional information regarding Scholarship Opportunities.
External or Third-Party Scholarships
In addition to the scholarship opportunities we offer, you may also want to explore external or third-party scholarship sources. To search for additional state scholarship opportunities (offered by KHEAA) available by the institution as well as criteria for the student to meet, please visit the KHEAA website.
JCTC Scholarships
All applications must be received by March 15th to be taken into consideration, unless otherwise noted in the requirements of a particular scholarship award. Applications are accepted each Spring semester to be considered for the following Fall and Spring terms. Financial need is considered; therefore, applicants must have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current year on file by the scholarship deadline.
To view a list of all of the scholarships offered by Jefferson and External Scholarship Opportunities, visit the Scholarships page.
JCTC requires that the JCTC Scholarship Application be submitted in order for a student to be considered for any and all scholarships. A separate JCTC Scholarship Application is to be completed for each scholarship a student is interested in and eligible to apply for.
All applications must be returned with any additional documentation requested in the scholarship criteria, such as transcripts, tax information, or essays by the application deadline.
If submitting by mail, please send to:
JCTC
Attn: Financial Aid/Scholarships
109 East Broadway
Louisville, KY 40202
Or students may submit each application in person to the JCTC Financial Aid Offices:
• Downtown & Carrollton - JEC Building, 4th Floor
• 200 West Broadway Louisville, KY 40202
• Southwest Campus - ADM Building
Additional scholarship information can be found on our Scholarships website.
Do I have to reapply for scholarships each year?
Yes. Students must reapply annually to renew and continue receiving their scholarship, so long as they maintain all other scholarship requirements.
