Can I get back in a course if I was dropped?
To avoid being dropped from your courses, please ensure that you make payment arrangements before the deadline.
If you set up a payment plan or make any payment on your account, once your financial aid is disbursed the excess aid will be refunded back to you.
If you receive financial aid such as grants, scholarships, Work Ready, third-party assistance, or KEES awards, you will not be dropped for non-payment if the college has placed an no cancellation (NOC) hold on your account.
If you have any extenuating circumstances or need assistance with payment plans, please contact your local KCTCS College Business Office.
If unable to make payment arrangements, you may consider starting your courses in the next available 12-Week or 8-Week sessions for the semester.
Students dropped for non-payment may be subject to a Reinstatement Charge and or a Late Payment Charge of $75 depending on the KCTCS college.
If you were dropped for non-payment
Students cancelled for non-payment who wish to re-enroll are welcome to do so but must address their bill immediately after re-enrolling. Students can work with the START Center for assistance with re-enrolling. Once their schedule is finalized, the student will be provided a copy of their bill and directed to the Business Office to make a payment and/or set up a payment plan. While effort will be made to re-enroll students into their original schedule, changes may be necessary based on course availability. Students who wish to re-instate after the first week of the semester must obtain instructor permission before enrolling. Students should reference the Academic Calendar for relevant deadlines related to enrollment and reinstatement.
If you were dropped for non-attendance
Students who are dropped because they were reported as a No Show should work with their instructor to gain permission to re-enroll in the class. Once permission is obtained, students can forward that permission to Student Records (octc.studentrecords@kctcs.edu) to be removed from the no show roster.
