What scholarships do you offer and how do I apply?
KCTCS offers a number of scholarships, both academic-based and need-based that you are not required to pay back. For a list of KCTCS scholarships, visit the Two-Year Public Colleges Scholarship guide. Each year, a number of individuals, organizations, and companies make funding available for scholarships to various KCTCS colleges. The amount and criteria for these awards will vary. These scholarships are advertised on college websites when available, and eligible students may apply at that time.
External or Third-Party Scholarships
In addition to the scholarship opportunities we offer, you may also want to explore external or third-party scholarship sources. To search for additional state scholarship opportunities (offered by KHEAA) available by the institution as well as criteria for the student to meet, please visit the KHEAA website.
What types of scholarships do you offer?
Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College offers several categories of scholarships. Some are general scholarships for students in any field, others are dedicated to students in such disciplines as Culinary Arts, Welding, Business, and Allied Health. Information on scholarships can be found by viewing our website.
How do I apply for a scholarship?
Please apply online for all scholarships listed unless a separate application is indicated.
- Apply Online beginning November for the following fall/spring semesters
- Deadline: March 1st
- Scholarship applicants are encouraged to file the FAFSA
- Must be seeking a credential at SKYCTC and meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Write a Career Goal Statement
- All applications must be submitted online in the scholarship application. Additional documents may be returned to the SKYCTC Foundation Office located in building H.
SKY Merit and DC to Finish are automatically awarded and do not require an application. Please see the SKY Merit and DC to Finish page for details.
Is there a deadline to apply for a scholarship?
The scholarship application process opens November 13th for the following fall/spring semesters. The deadline for all other is March 1st. The deadline may be extended in special circumstances.
How will I be notified if I receive a scholarship?
If you receive a scholarship, you will be notified via email by the SKYCTC Foundation. The award email will be sent to your KCTCS email. If there is no KCTCS email on file, it will be sent to the email address on your Student Self Service account. You may also be notified via text or calls.
