How do I apply for admission? Is there a deadline?

Apply online at BCTC's admissions portal — the free application takes about 15 minutes. BCTC uses open, rolling admissions with no single fixed deadline, but you must submit your application and required documents by each semester's posted document deadline to enroll for that term.

Step-by-step process (First-Time Freshman): 

  1. Submit the free online Application for Admission (about 15 minutes).
  2. Send BCTC your final high school or GED® transcript — mail to: BCTC Office of Admissions, Newtown Campus, 500 Newtown Pike, Lexington, KY 40508. Home-school transcripts must be notarized.
  3. Submit ACT/SAT scores or complete placement testing (optional but recommended).
  4. Explore financial aid (FAFSA using BCTC school code 005244).

By student type: 

  • Transfer / Returning students: Also submit official transcripts from every non-KCTCS college you attended.
  • Dual credit students: Apply through DualEnroll and complete the Dual Credit Enrollment Agreement.
  • Academic suspension readmits: Follow the Academic Suspension Reinstatement Protocol.
  • International students: Additional Financial Verification Form and bank statement are required.

Deadlines: 

  • BCTC has open/rolling admissions, so applications are accepted year-round for future terms.
