Can I get back in a course if I was dropped?

Body

To avoid being dropped from your courses, please ensure that you make payment arrangements before the deadline.

  • If you set up a payment plan or make any payment on your account, once your financial aid is disbursed the excess aid will be refunded back to you.
  • If you receive financial aid such as grants, scholarships, Work Ready, third-party assistance, or KEES awards, you will not be dropped for non-payment if the college has placed an no cancellation (NOC) hold on your account.
  • If you have any extenuating circumstances or need assistance with payment plans, please contact your local KCTCS College Business Office.
  • If unable to make payment arrangements, you may consider starting your courses in the next available 12-Week or 8-Week sessions for the semester.

Reinstatement Process

Dropped for Non-Payment

If a student was dropped before classes begin, the student should make payment arrangements and contact their advisor for reinstatement.

If a student was dropped after classes begin, the student should make payment arrangements, then must obtain instructor consent and forward the request to the Records Office.

Students dropped for non-payment will be assessed a Reinstatement Charge of $75. Students who would like to request the removal of late payment charges should contact the Business Office at 606-326-2013.

Dropped due to an Error

If an error has occurred and a student has been participating, the student must contact the instructor to request to be reinstated via email. If the instructor agrees to the reinstatement, please then forward the instructor permission email to AS_Admissions@kctcs.edu. Requests from students will not be accepted without instructor permission.
