Yes, you must apply for financial aid each year to remain eligible.
- Financial aid at Gateway Community and Technical College is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis
- Submitting your application early helps maximize your funding opportunities
Complete the FAFSA
- The FAFSA must be completed every year
- A new FAFSA application opens on October 1 annually
Each FAFSA covers three terms:
- Fall semester
- Spring semester
- Summer semester

The 2026–2027 FAFSA covers:
- Fall 2026
- Spring 2027
- Summer 2027
