Changes in Your Financial Situation

If your financial situation has changed, you may be eligible for additional financial assistance through a Special Circumstances Review.

What Is a Special Circumstances Review?

The Financial Aid Office can evaluate changes in your financial situation on a case-by-case basis. These reviews may allow your financial aid eligibility to be recalculated.

Examples of Qualifying Circumstances

You may be considered for a review if you have experienced:

  • Loss of income due to layoff
  • Disability
  • Divorce or separation
  • Loss of untaxed benefits
  • Death or other significant changes affecting your financial situation

How to Request a Recalculation

To have your financial aid reviewed and potentially adjusted:

  1. Submit the online Request for Recalculation Form
  2. Carefully review all instructions provided in the form
  3. Submit all required supporting documentation

Note: The Financial Aid Office begins accepting submissions on July 1

Processing Timeline

  • The review process typically takes about one month
  • Processing time depends on how quickly all required documentation is submitted

Important Notes

  • Requests are reviewed individually and are not guaranteed approval
  • Complete and accurate documentation is essential for timely processing
