Admission Requirements and Enrollment

Who Needs to Apply

Complete a new admissions application if you:

• Are enrolling at Gateway Community and Technical College for the first time
• Have been out for one full fall or spring semester

Types of Admission

Students may apply as:

• First-Time Freshmen
• Transfer Students (Advanced Standing)
• Visiting Students
• Non-Degree Students

Basic Eligibility Requirements

Students must meet one of the following:

• Graduate from a public high school
• Graduate from a certified non-public high school
• Earn a GED diploma

General Enrollment Steps

1. Apply for Admission
   • Submit an admissions application online.
      
2. Set up your User Account
   • Visit the User Account Center to complete your account setup.
      
3. Complete the Student Financial Agreement Task
   • After activating your account, log into MyPath and complete the Student Financial Agreement Task.
      
4. Send Transcripts
   • Have transcripts sent directly from your previous high school or college.
   • If a transcript is being withheld due to an unpaid balance, contact the issuing institution.
      
5. Submit Test Scores
   • Have scores sent directly from your high school, ACT, or The College Board.
   • If you do not have test scores, you may complete placement testing.
      
6. Meet with an Advisor and Register for Classes
    
7. Apply for Financial Aid
   • Review and apply for available financial aid options.
      
8. Pay for Classes
