Body
Federal regulations require students receiving Title IV financial aid to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), even if aid isn't awarded each term. If you're on SAP suspension, you may appeal if extenuating circumstances affected your academic performance.
To submit your SAP appeal:
- Log into MyPath and click the Student Service tile.
- Select Tasks.
- On your To Do List, click on the Task titled SAP Appeal OnBase.
- A Task Details pop-up will appear.

- Read the details and click the link to be redirected to OnBase.
- Log in with your username and password.
- Page 1 contains your information. Use the drop-downs to select your term (ex. Fall 2024) and your Home College. Review and proceed to page 2.

- Page 2 provides details of your SAP and outlines the required minimum SAP requirements. You can print this page and keep for your records. Review and proceed to page 3.

- Page 3 explains the appeal process and requirements. Review and proceed to page 4.

- On Pages 4-5, answer these questions in detail:
- What happened when you didn’t meet satisfactory academic progress?
- How will you resolve this and succeed academically?
- On Page 6, upload your supporting documents.
- We are unable to accept/view .heic (Apple device photo file type) or .zip files. Make sure to convert .heic files to .pdf as needed. If the wrong file type is used, your appeal may be denied or will be on hold until correct attachments are submitted.
- Acknowledge the statement, verify your signature, and click Submit.

- Once submitted, you will see the confirmation and status page. Review and agree to the terms to finish your appeal.

After Submission
After you submit an appeal, it will be reviewed by the SAP committee. You’ll be notified by your student email.
To View the Details of Your SAP Appeal Status
- Log into MyPath
- Select the Student Self-Service tile.
- From the Student Homepage, click on the Search Bar at the top of the screen and type SAP Status. Hit enter or click the Magnifying Glass.

If Approved
If approved, you’ll be placed on SAP Probation. You may need to complete a Plan of Action (PLOA) or SAP training. A PLOA sets conditions and requirements to continue receiving financial aid for one term.
If Denied
If your appeal is denied, you won’t be eligible for federal student aid. You can still attend college, but you’ll need to pay for your courses yourself until you meet SAP standards. Appeal decisions are final and can’t be overturned. If you can’t pay tuition, please talk to an academic advisor about your options before dropping or withdrawing from classes.
