- If you set up a payment plan or make any payment on your account, once your financial aid is disbursed the excess aid will be refunded back to you.
- If you receive financial aid such as grants, scholarships, Work Ready, third-party assistance, or KEES awards, you will not be dropped for non-payment if the college has placed an no cancellation (NOC) hold on your account.
- If you have any extenuating circumstances or need assistance with payment plans, please contact your local KCTCS College Business Office.
- If unable to make payment arrangements, you may consider starting your courses in the next available 12-Week or 8-Week sessions for the semester.
Students dropped for non-payment may be subject to a Reinstatement Charge and or a Late Payment Charge of $75 depending on the college.
Student must receive faculty permission to be reinstated into a class if they were dropped from non-engagement. Deadlines vary and are communicated to students who are impacted.
If you were dropped for non-payment
In order to be reinstated in the course(s), the students must complete the following steps:
- Meet with the Business Office to determine if the $75 Reinstatement Charge is owed.
- If no fee is assessed, the Business Office will notify the Records Office and request reinstatement of their schedule.
- If the Reinstatement Charge is assessed, the Business Office will collect the $75 charge at that time and then request the reinstatement. Student will be reinstated back into the courses. If the course is closed, student must work with their advisor to find another open course.
- The Start Center will review the request to determine how many classes have been missed and will only re-enroll the student in any classes where the student has missed only 1 class session. If the student has missed 2 class sessions, the student will not be reinstated.
- If reinstated, the student must return to the Business Office to pay the tuition for the reinstated courses. If unable to pay the tuition in full, students may set up a payment plan if the payment plan is still open.
Students dropped for non-payment will be assessed a Reinstatement Charge of $75.
