Can I get back in a course if I was dropped

Body

To avoid being dropped from your courses, please ensure that you make payment arrangements before the deadline.

  • If you set up a payment plan or make any payment on your account, once your financial aid is disbursed the excess aid will be refunded back to you.
  • If you receive financial aid such as grants, scholarships, Work Ready, third-party assistance, or KEES awards, you will not be dropped for non-payment if the college has placed an no cancellation (NOC) hold on your account.
  • If you have any extenuating circumstances or need assistance with payment plans, please contact your local KCTCS College Business Office.
  • If unable to make payment arrangements, you may consider starting your courses in the next available 12-Week or 8-Week sessions for the semester.

Jefferson does not remove students from being reported as a 'No-Show.' If a student should change their mind after withdrawing from a course, they may re-enter with the instructor's consent, or with both instructor and Academic Dean approval. Please email JF-Records-Office@kctcs.edu with any approvals or questions.

Reinstatement Process

Dropped for Non-Payment

Students will be sent a link to their KCTCS email that they must complete reinstate. Student can search their email for DROP FOR NONPAYMENT and find the email. It will be sent to their email on the Monday after purge took place. This is the only way to reinstate. The student will need their KCTCS ID# to complete the form. A student will have to identify in the form how they plan to pay now that they have been dropped. The form takes approximately 2 business days to process and the student should monitor their student email account for confirmation of enrollment or if next steps are needed. Students who are purged are charged $75 to reinstate. That charge is automatically placed on all that are purged but the College will remove if a student does not reinstate into classes. To reinstate, students must be prepared to pay or have aid or third party ready to go when they are enrolled.

Students dropped for non-payment will be assessed a Reinstatement Charge of $75. If a student needs to appeal the $75, they can email JF-Records-Office@kctcs.edu, include their ID#, and why they feel they were dropped in error.

Reinstatements are only accepted Monday-Thursday after the drop for non-payment has occurred. The form will close when reinstatements are no longer an option.
