Do I have to have my international transcripts translated and/or evaluated?

Body

KCTCS Colleges do not evaluate foreign transcript for transfer credit. You will need to have them translated, evaluated by the NACES member agency of your choice, and sent directly to your chosen KCTCS College. KCTCS relies on private academic credentialing agencies to complete the evaluation. There will be a charge associated with the evaluation.

International college transcripts must have a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member in order to be accepted by Admissions. Document-by-document evaluations or credential evaluations without a course-by-course evaluation will not be accepted for transfer credit.

Instruct the evaluation agency to mail an official report directly to the College’s Admissions Office or designated International Admissions Officer (please ensure that this report is emailed to the Admissions Officer as well). Some KCTCS schools allow for electronic delivery of official course-by-course evaluations through the evaluator's official online portal.

Important Note: Although KCTCS colleges accept translated/evaluated international transcripts for transfer credit purposes, please note that not all KCTCS colleges accept international students.

  • Madisonville is one of the KCTCS colleges that does not accept international students.

All international transcripts (outside the U.S.) must be submitted by the student to World Education Services (WES) for evaluation. We will not attempt evaluation of international transcripts. More information can be found on our Transcripts webpage.
