Course Registration: How and When to Register
When Does Registration Begin?
Registration opens on the following dates:
- Spring Registration: October 1
- Summer and Fall Registration: March 1
How Can I View Available Classes?
You can view a complete list of available courses using the KCTCS Visual Schedule Builder.
For additional details:
- View course descriptions and program requirements in the KCTCS Catalog online.
- Contact your advisor or the Advising Center for guidance.
- Advisors can also provide information about courses that may not be offered at your college.
Registering for Classes Online
Current Students
Current students may view available classes and enroll online only if they have self-enroll permission.
- Instructions are available on the Class Search and Enroll guide.
- If you do not have self-enroll permission, you will see the message: "You do not have access to enrollment at this time."
If this occurs:
- Contact your assigned advisor for assistance.
- Advisor contact information is available in MyPath under Student Self-Service in the Manage Classes tile.
Visiting Students
Somerset College grants self-enrollment permission for visiting and non-credential-seeking students.
Steps to Register for Classes
New and Readmitted Students
All new students and students returning after five or more years must complete New Student Orientation.
Orientation requirements:
- Complete orientation after meeting with your advisor and enrolling in classes.
- Orientation may be completed on campus or online.
- Orientation must be completed by the Friday before classes begin.
Important notes:
- A hold will be placed on your account until orientation is completed.
- Your advisor will register you for orientation during your appointment.
- The hold will be removed once orientation is complete.
To schedule an advising appointment, contact the Advising Center.
Continuing Students
Continuing students should contact their assigned Advisor to schedule an appointment for registration.
