My financial situation has changed. What can I do to see if I qualify for more financial assistance?

Body

The Office of Financial Aid can take into account special circumstances, which may affect your need, on a case-by-case basis. Reasons that may be considered for a Special Circumstances Review include loss of income due to layoff, disability, divorce, separation or loss of untaxed benefits etc.

You should contact the Financial Aid Office and a Financial Aid Specialist will provide you a Recalculation Form as well as a checklist of other items required to perform the judgement.

Requests are processed as they are received, once all required items are submitted. If the professional judgement is approved, the recalculation corrections to your FAFSA will be submitted by the Financial Aid Office and processed by the Department of Education. This process can take up to 15 business days to complete.
