Financial Aid Disbursements

What Is Disbursement?

Disbursement is the process by which Gateway:

  • Confirms your class attendance
  • Verifies your financial aid file is complete
  • Receives your financial aid funds from federal, state, or other sources
  • Applies those funds to your tuition balance

Timeline

  • Funds are typically received 4-6 weeks after the semester begins
    • For late-start classes, timing is based on the course start date
  • Once funds are received, they are applied to your account within 2 days

Disbursement Dates

  • If your classes begin August 17th, 2026, your financial aid may begin disbursing on September 20th, 2026.
  • If your classes begin September 14th, 2026, your financial aid may begin disbursing on October 18th, 2026.
  • If your classes begin October 14th, 2026, your financial aid may begin disbursing on November 1st, 2026.
