When is the census date and why does it matter?

Census Date and Its Important

What Is the Census Date?

The Census Date is the point in the term when Gateway confirms your enrollment for financial aid purposes.

Why the Census Date Matters

Changes to your schedule around this date can affect your financial aid:

• Adding or dropping classes may result in adjustments to your financial aid.
• If you enroll in courses after the Census Date, your Pell Grant will not increase.
• To ensure accurate funding, all enrollment changes should be completed before this date.

Planning Ahead

If you are considering making changes to your schedule, review how those changes could impact your financial aid before the Census Date.
