How to Cancel Your Financial Aid

If you need to cancel all or part of your financial aid, you have several options.

Request Cancellation

You can submit a request in writing by:

  • Sending a signed written statement, or
  • Emailing from your Gateway Community and Technical College student email account to: gw-fin-aidcommons@kctcs.edu
     

What to Include in Your Request

Clearly specify the changes you want to make, including:

  • The type of award (e.g., subsidized loan)
  • The amount to reduce or cancel
  • The specific term(s) the request applies to
  • The action you want taken (e.g., reduce or cancel)

In-Person Option

You may also:

  • Visit the Financial Aid Office in person
  • Complete a Loan Cancellation Form
